Birds have fascinated mankind for thousands of years. Not only because of the eternal dream of flying. And yet we know hardly anything about their lives. With three exhibitions, the Ornithological Institute at Sempach provides impressive insights into local birdlife: In the interactive exhibition "Survival" with eight rooms, visitors are ringed like birds and explore the various habitats and survival strategies of the feathered animals. The ring acts as a transponder, recording the guest’s path and content preferences in the exhibition. The data trail provides an individual surprise at the end of the visit. The multimedia show "Singphony" initiates the audience into the secrets of bird language and the movie "Bird Watch" features impressive footage from Swiss birdlife. The appropriate environment of the visitor attraction is the first three-story loam building in Switzerland, designed and realized by the architects :mlzd.
