After two years of renovation, Rapperswil Castle has been given a new lease of life. The centrepiece of the striking postcard motif on Upper Lake Zurich is the visitor tour we designed and realised. The new permanent exhibition entitled ‘Rapperswil Castle - Experience History(s)’ offers a journey through the castle's 700-year history - entertaining, enjoyable and informative. In close co-operation with the owners and with the support of a historian, we have packed the most striking events and remarkable anecdotes into an eventful tour: How the Habsburgs positioned the castle as a strategic symbol of power against the Confederates and built a wooden bridge over the lake as a pioneering European project, how a Polish count transformed the castle into the Polish National Museum and how over 70 dutiful high guards protected the castle and town for over 190,000 long nights. With their Argus eyes, the high guards in the Gügeler Tower kept an eye on everything - and experienced stories that will amaze you. What exactly? That remains a secret until the castle visit. Just this much: visitors don't have to work a night shift for the new castle experience like the high guard. Just drop by and be amazed.
