Alpinism on Eiger has written many stories - magical and tragic. The 40-minute walk from the Eigergletscher station to Kleine Scheidegg is also called "Triumph and Tragedy". On the Jungfrau Eiger Walk, hikers pass seven stations with displays on the past and present of extreme climbing on the north face of Eiger. The north face, which is visible along the entire route, is the backdrop for unusual photo spots and creates an impressive link between the scenography and the natural mountain massif. The main attraction of the hiking trail can be found in a former transformer station: A wooden model of the Eiger north face at the scale of 1:500, artfully sculpted with a chainsaw. At the push of a button, laser beams trace the historic climbing routes up this impressive mountain.
