Garden staging «the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle»

For many of the almost 400,000 visitors a year, the twelve-hectare garden complex near Merano is paradise on earth come true. Gently winding paths lead through four garden worlds with 80 garden landscapes and plants from all over the world. One of the highlights is the "Garden of Lovers" designed by Steiner Sarnen Switzerland. The beginning of our collaboration was unspectacular: we were asked to create the mission statement and the graphic design of the planned information pavilions. From the standard pavilions and the botanical texts, we eventually developed eleven narrative pavilions. The most spectacular innovation was the "Garden of Lovers" realised in 2015. This cosy garden area is located on one of the highest points of the grounds. Inspiring quotes, carefully placed stagings in the landscape, beguiling plants and various places to linger allow the senses to wander. Roses and star jasmine seductively caress the noses of visitors. Those who get involved in this game can experience or re-experience the feeling of being in love with all its lightness and heaviness, its playfulness and seriousness, its transience and duration. A wonderful place for all lovers. But also a comforting place of longing for all exes.
